I'm basing the 800lbs on a 12.5 - 13 % tongue weight even with it at 15% that comes to 900 lbs, but again why I switched trucks for greater payload as even at 15% I still have over 900lbs of payload available. My daughter, me and the dog - I don't think come to even 300 lbs. Stay tuned though I just bought a tongue weight scale.

I'd be interested to know; as you can tell from my example above, I travel with full FW tank, have 4 T-105's, full propane, etc. so I expect mine will weigh in much higher.

I guess it's too early to be grumbling about snow and waiting for spring, but here I am! LOL.....first major snow this morning so I spent over an hour on the tractor clearing the drive. I just want to go camping!

cheers,
Dave

I tow my 2020 22FQS with a Toyota Tundra. It does good, especially after installing Firestone air bags. I know air bags don't change any weight ratings, but they sure do improve the way the rig handles. I do not travel far with full tanks though, and only fill it when I'm going to the back country for extended periods.

Using a 11' Sierra 1500 Ext cab, 5.3, HD towing, 8' bed, 3.73 for a 21DBS. My payload rating is a little bit higher. Payload is the number most concerning to me. My numbers: TV GVWR 7000, GAWR 3950 (2), 21DBS sticker says, GVWR 7500, cargo 1075, and ORV certificate of origin says shipping weight 5716. My math: 7500 - 1075 = 6425. Then, 6425 - 650 (FW 78 gal. X 8.33) - 60 (2 propane x 30) = 5716. I never fill FW to help keep tongue weight lower so 50 gal. X 8.33 = 415. Pulling all over CO, passes at altitude, etc., I fill near destinations. 21DBS hovers about: 5006 + 60 + 415 + 600 (cargo) = 6081. Running HD shocks, airbags, E tires, Tru cool tranny cooler, 3.73. I stay at 65 mph, except over passes or I70, but in no hurry. No issues with semis or winds. ORV tracks great.

Sooo, what IS your payload - you've said you have a 7000 GVWR but have you weighed your truck or does it have the actual payload on the door sticker?

Not sure on your math; where does the 5006 lbs come from? ....You've said the shipping weight is 5716 (ORV says 5790 for the 2020) but both these numbers don't include water, propane, batteries, or factory options......so I'd say if you have 50galls of water and 600 lbs of cargo you'd be at 5716 + 60 + 415 + 600 = 6,791 lbs......what am I missing?

cheers,
Dave
