Battery isolator relay

2002 Rexhall Rexair. V-10. Fulltimer parked most of the time. Battery isolator clicks all the time. Behind fuse box and hard to access. Have chassis batt. disconnected when parked. If I leave a interior lamp on it helps. I pulled the BD 5 amp fuse amp it stopped. question, will pulling fuse cause other problems? Only when connected to shore power.
thanks

Well the relay performs an important function. I just replaced mine back in January. I was reluctant to do it because of its location, but it was much easier than I expected.

BUT if you want to pull that fuse, I don’t think it would cause any issue beyond not charging that chassis battery while you’re parked. I would have a set of jumper cables long enough to reach between the chassis and coach batteries just in case the chassis battery surprises you one morning and won’t start the engine. (Ask me how I know that ….. !)

Good luck! Keep us informed.

If your disconnecting the chassis battery, your defeating it purpose anyway.

Pull the fuse.

batt isolator relay

Thanks for input, will pull fuse for now. Started disconnecting chassis battery because it was draining down. Thinking relay had something to do with that. For now, fuse, then relay.
Thanks again for input.

Is this a relay between the alternator and the chassis battery; or a BIRD or Trik-L type relay that joins the chassis battery with the house battery?

What does it look like?

Between house and chassis, can just see top of it behind fuses, dome shaped. Working nerve up to tackle it.

If the relay is cycling, something is sending a signal for it to do it.

I would check for a high amp draw on the chassis battery.
The control is signaling the relay to close, charging it up and then opening. Within a short time, it's voltage is dropping, causing it to need charging again.
