Martin P,
Can you tell me where the fuel filter/filters are on the Rexhall Aerbus? Maybe even how much oil the diesel engine takes?
Thanks,
Brian

On my 2000 Aerbus diesel. When you plug into shore power do you leave the battery disconnects on? Or so you disconnect the batteries?
Thanks

Brianinsocal,
I will typically leave the coach battery connected to keep the battery on charge but, if connect for a week or more I will disconnect every other day. My power center will close a relay to charge the chassis battery also when the coach battery is above a certain voltage. I have read several posts about peoples concern with over charging when connected to shore power if the batteries are left connected but, I think that this was more of an issue with the older inverters/battery chargers. I have placed a voltmeter across the batteries when plugged in and see maybe 13.5 volts, not a problem. When I run the solar the charge controller will charge and hold the batteries at 15.3 volts for an hour every so many days to remove any build up on the plates and then revert back to a float charge mode.

Thanks Martin P. Do you need a disconnect for the solar either before or after the charge controller when you plug into shore power?
Thanks

Newbe help with questions, PLEASE
Hi all, I have been a member of the forum for a while but not real active. Well, all that is about to change. The wife and I are looking to buy a class A and we really like the looks of the used Rexhall coaches.
We have found one that we LOVE the pictures of. We are waiting on some money and as soon as we get it we will be buying.
My questions are, Anything special to look at or check other than the normal stuff? I have heard that Rexhall did some screwy stuff in some of the coaches, is this true? In one place I hear that Rexhall was near the top of quality, in another place I read they are junk. Please give an honest opinion of quality and stuff that makes no sense and makes you scratch your head.
Thanks for advice and opinions.
PS, if it make a difference, we are looking at a mid 90's coach.

If you are so inclined, we're asking folks to update profile and signature with location and model of Rexhall.
And, we have a Rexhall Owners Group, be nice if you could take a couple of moments and join that.
Of course, it's not mandatory...just trying to build a really solid base as our group grows!
Just did a quick check, and it looks like we are pushing 30% in the ROG...come join, help get that number up!

John, I've tried updating my signature but obviously doing something wrong since my motorhome and toad are not shown below my name.
Are you talking about the Rexhall Owners Group that is separate from IRV2? If so, I believe I'm a member. Otherwise I don't see a Rexhall group under the Owners Forum heading.
Thanks
Gary

Briainsocal,
The fuel filter should be mounted on the L/H side of the engine looking aft after the lift pump and before the fuel injection pump. I also installed a low pressure fuel warning light due to the reliability issue of the stock lift pump. Mine did fail and I went after market. I connected the solar charge controller directly to the coach batteries so all it is seeing is battery voltage. I have not had the solar running at the same time as shore power as I only use solar when dry camping.

Can someone explain why if the shore power is a single 50 amp 110 line that there is a double 50 in the fuse box of the coach?
Thanks

I think my coach can take either the 120 or the 240v. I am getting confused. The reason I am asking is can I hook up a 30 amp 120 volt to my rig? Single 30 amp breaker. I have an adapter.

Handyhiker,
Welcome. I have seen a few things that are quality related but, they certainly are not junk. I beefed up several underside body frames that had sagged but, as I am not the original owner I am unsure of the history of the MH and how it was driven or maintained. I think all manufactures have had some problems at one time Rexhall included but for the most part I do think that they are a good coach. I would get a pre-buy inspection preformed as I would on any coach. Ask for the service history. I like the MH and have done a number of mods to get it where I Like. For the price it was okay. Hopefully others from this group will also voice their thoughts.
