Fuel filler tube leaking

97 Rexhall Aerbus Chevy 454 filler tube leaking bad. Any ideas where to get a replacement. I can access the hose clamps, just need to source the part. Anyone been through this one before?

Is it the tube or the hoses?

My experience on the P30 chassis with the 454 is it was the hose clamps - although on a coach that old, it’s possible the ethanol dry rotted the hose (happened to my ‘91 inside the fuel tank - a ‘97 should have had better hoses).

Unless the coach was in a wreck, I can’t imagine the metal filler assembly springing a leak - and if it did, removal and retelling would be easy to do.

I got some flexable 2" fuel hose from Napa to fix my freightliner. It worked great but was about $80.00. I also got a piece of 2" reinforced 2" fuel hose from the Berkshire plant and that was too ridged and still leaked. Both hoses were about 30" length and I only needed about 8". I posted my repairs here with pictures. I have what is left of both hoses. PM me if this is what you need and we can work something out.

I have a 1996 with 454 and replaced the fuel filler neck hose . The hose is Gates fuel filler neck hose 23968. I also had to use two metal 90° turns because this fuel hose is thinner than the original hose and one kink if you don’t use the 90° elbows with hose clamps. after doing the fix I can still be gas easily without having to stop the old hose would not let it fill gas very good it was a lot thicker

On our old P3x coach - the actual filler hose was just plain unbraided straight pieces of hose 4-6” long and a piece of formed pipe to make up any difference, the forming was the needed 90’s.
The vent hose that runs from the tank to the fuel filler port was (when we owned it), braided hose from the tank to the fuel filler port. It’s braided because of its small diameter and that it needs to make turns - the braiding minimizes collapsing in the bends.
From a manufacturing cost perspective, it’s cheaper not to have to have a formed hose (there are no alternatives when it comes to radiator hoses which is why they are large diameter braided).
