Generac destroying fuel pumps

Hi i have a 91 Class A 28 ft Aerbus. I'm having problems keeping the Generac running. It runs for about 10 minutes then shuts down and the fuel pump pumps no more. I bought 3 new fuel pumps. Same thing happend. Any suggestions as to what may be causing this would be greatly appreciated. ty

Welcome to the forum!
What brand(s) fuel pumps are you buying? I am assuming you have an electric pump.
Have you checked for a sharp bend or kink in the fuel line from the tank to the pump? The fuel line for the pump is above the bottom of the fuel tank far enough it shouldn't be picking up debris plugging the pumps. When the pumps quit pumping do they stop running entirely or run and not pump? Have you taken a failed pump and shook it to see if dirt, rust or debris comes out of either end?
Another thing to check is the voltage available to the pump. Low voltage will destroy an electric motor quickly. Low voltage could be caused by corroded, dirty, or loose connections. Also check the connection to the frame or chassis for the pump's ground wire. It needs to be clean and tight.
Do you have a fuel filter in-line? If you haven't changed it I would. Trying to force fuel through a clogged filter can ruin a good pump whether electric or mechanical.
I run two in line filters with my electric pump. One before the pump and one after.
As I said I have done some assuming here so I could be off base some. Give us a little more information so we can be on the right track.
Lynn

kcmitch, did you try putting the original back on to determine if it was still defective, and not another problem.
