I have a 2000 Aerbus, and mine is accessible from the exterior side panel that's under the bathroom. It will be located directly below the conservation vent at the top of the RV, in my case, by the shower skylight. If yours is like mine, it will appear like the other compartment doors but without a latch and instead affixed with silicone caulking.
I ended up converting the fixed exterior panel into an accessible panel door by removing all of the silicone and gasket material and purchasing those bulby type seals you see on all the other compartment doors and then installing stainless steel electrical panel snap latches on the bottom to secure it closed. Because it doesn't have struts to keep the door open, I keep a piece of 1-inch PVC in there for a door prop.
Personally, I would avoid removing the tank, at all costs, and repair it in place with fiberglass. I repaired my potable water tank that way and it works like a charm.
