Kwickee steps / step light quit

2003 37 Rexhall Aerbus

The Kwickee wiring diagram says there is an 20 amp fuse before the battery. Anybody know where the 20 amp fuse is for automatic stairs are? The 2 5 amp fuses in fuse box are good.

Does a bad normally open door switch cause the light not to work ?

I cleaned grounds and connections *♂️

Thx!

With it being 22 years old, I would guess the light is bad. They did not use a very good light to start with. Both of mine had a round amber light, the same as is used for clearance lights on trailers, etc. If I need to replace mine, it will be with an LED of some type. I would also think that if the step is working then the 20 amp fuse id good. Usually thewre is a breaker type of fuse in the 12-volt panel that says step.

If it’s round and under the stairs you can gently pop the cover of and replace the bulb. It takes a #194, same as some marker lights, available at the auto parts store or Walmart.
If your steps still work it’s probably the bulb.
