Weeeeeeee....it's done, ok 90% anyway. Best news is smart charger went right to "Boost Mode". Will let Genny run about 3hrs then off for 15-20min to let batteries settle. I'll then measure the voltage on coach batteries. Tomorrow when we don't really need AC power I'll kick it into Desulfurization mode as these have gone a year w/o proper nurturing.
Im very jazzed yet, what an adventure. Took about 3.5hrs total. The small space as primary hurdle, had to remove two drawers an the slide closest to install location, my wire stripper had issue with the rubber insulation under the silk wrapping. The wires were a bear with reconnecting the +/- wires to stubs. Hint, if yours is installed as ours was I had to remove the wire nuts on each line installing them into charger. GET A 5/32 ALLEN WRENCH WITH A 7" OR LONGER HANDLE.
All I have left is fasten down the converter and restore the drawers and rails tomorrow....
Sad part was little stuff that too the longest...us nursing this messed up hip...wife said I looked stiff as heck...and in in the good was. It's ok just slipped a little extra Xanax or 15 into her dinner...she'll sleep like a baby or stab me in my sleep (I can't wait but she's being a tease and refuses to honor her word.
Thanks to all the members here who posted so much helpful info in so many threads.
Last everyone with a Rexhall pre-2000ish rigs should really consider updating the old converter. Plus such improvements will help in those parks that have age limits. If the rig is purdy and electric had been updated it can get you in.
Thanks again...will try and post photos.
