Android Auto?

Is an Android Auto-compatible app making any progress toward release?

I use it all the time in my car and it's okay. I'd never use it for my RV because it doesn't know anything about my height, weight, or length requirements.

We have a dashboard unit with AA. We use it as a secondary navigation system. On local roads, the truck GPS "wins" any "disagreement." When they do agree, it's nice for the driver to be able to directly observe the distance to the next turn, traffic delays (at which Maps is much better than Magellan), and such. On interstate highways, we'll sometimes take the Maps route if it shows significant time savings and the paper Trucker's Atlas shows no reason not to use that route.

Yes. Some Android apps are specifically designed to adopt the Android Auto look and feel. It works on the vehicle's screen rather than on your phone screen. That makes it MUCH easier to follow and use.

RVTW's iOS app is specifically compatible with CarPlay, with the same result. To my knowledge, Android Auto has not been updated accordingly. I hope it will be.
