Are custom stops saved for public use?

As the subject states, are custom stops saved for public use? The preexistence of multiple points for the same location, e.g., Sam's Club, suggests they are but, if adding the address of a private home, I wouldn't want that public.

My example is a Boondockers Welcome host. Their addresses aren't public unless you're approved for a stay. We need the precise location for routing and would save it with the Boondockers Welcome host name, but we don't want to publicize that precise location if it's available to others.

Custom stops are only saved for the trip they are added to. Not only are they not saved for others to use, they are not saved for reuse on your own trips as well.

Although it should be low priority and may require more resources than it's worth, the concept of a custom stop that is persistent across trips would be a nice enhancement. It should be linked to the user account, not the trip.

It would be easy to identify it with a check box. What might not be so easy is to make it accessible across trips, even if the original trip gets deleted. ()

There's other stuff to consider, like the maintenance routines that clean up old stuff have to be revised to reflect management intent.

Like I said, it would be nice but maybe not worthwhile.
