Best / Safest Route from Nashville to 1755 Lower Stecoah Rd Robbinsville, NC
Hello! Hope all is well!
Our winter adventure has us making a stop in Nashville for a bit, then off to ride our motorbikes near Robbinsville, NC. We have a Truck/5th wheel combination that is about 65 feet long when hooked up.
What I am seeking, is your advice on a best route from Nashville to our stay at Iron Horse Motorcycle Resort at 1755 Lower Stecoah Rd, (Robbinsville), NC 28771. This is the area of many twisty roads including Hwy 129, A.K.A. 'Tail of The Dragon' and not a roadway for our long RV's. From good ole paper maps and interweb searches, have come up with the following route;
- Nashville, 2626 Music Valley Dr. to Iron Horse Motorcycle Lodge & Resort, 1755 Lower Stecoah Road, Stecoah (Robbinsville), NC
- Get on TN-155 S from Music Valley Dr. ti I-24
- Take I-24 E to (toward Chatenooga) to US-74 E in Bradley County. Take exit 20 from I-75 N onto US-74 E.
- Continue on US-74 E passing Ducktown, Murphy, Topton, Nantahala National Forest, Wesser, then Left onto Highway 28 passing Almond to the destination in Tapoco, 1755 Lower Stecoah Rd., (Robbinsville), NC 28771
I am a bit concerned about the the length of our rig and the stretch on Hwy I-74 between Ocoee, TN and Hothouse, NC. Any suggestions from folks that have either run this roadway, or are familiar with the area is greatly appreciated. I for sure do not want to be that dope that ends up on a roadway that we have no business being on.
Regards,
Greg
