City to State to City and Overlaps?

First let me say I know you can fix a route and change the road to another. My issue is Adding a City and then adding another third city. Here is the problem, I will see names of say city two. But here is the rub the 2nd city location and the route take's will off my route adding more directions and more miles and not staying on the route through the city 2nd two? I click OFF to change my route and it flips only adding more unwanted routes how do I correct this mapping guidance route?

Not shown is my routing which is from Florida to Salt Lake City, UT over the flats areas and north of Danver, CO. Thanks for your feedback help

I'm having a difficult time visualizing what you are trying to describe. Please give the location names (cities, towns...) and their order, that you are trying to use to manipulate your route. Sounds like you are not dragging your route, but trying to route between specific locations, but not successfully. Attach a screen shot if you can.

I agree - I am afraid I don't understand what you are trying to do. Are you trying to add stops "along" your route but not as overnights (i.e., we need to go visit that Giant String Ball?)? Sorry, want to help but agree need more info.

Here’s my WAG at this, I think I know what you are referring to. Had something similar happen early in learning Trip Wizard.
Once a trip is built and saved the platform locks a route based on your RV profile. Should you deviate from the original routing RVTW will always try to get you back on the pre planned route and that is when things get goofy. The platform seems to be defaulting to your RV profile. Even going back to the original trip and adding a stop or point of interest will have some on impact your original trip.

Personally I use RVTW as a navigation tool for point A to point B and for locating overnights and investigating RV parks for longer than overnight stays. When deviating from RVTW for fueling or POI, RTVW gets muted and go to Gas Buddy or Goggle Maps.
I really like TruckMap app. due to the ability to program a vehicle profile.
Like TruckMaps, RVTW will default to a known oversized vehicle profile and issue a warning when some areas are undocumented.
When deviating from RVTW keep eyes on the next hill or curve and search for low clearances.
