You'll be fine. Just drift south as you go depending on weather. Not many mountains to worry about. Head south at Amarillo if it's dicey, cross over and catch the I-10, then slightly north to Mesa. Lots of interesting places to visit on those state roads from Lubbock westerly. You could visit Carlsbad Caverns...don't miss that! Stay in Pecos or Van Horn. Big RV parks. Low cost.

In December head south to I-10 west. No mountains.... just mole hills!

I 55 to 30, to 20, to 10
There aren’t any mountains.
I’ve driven it many times.
I 10 is a boring road. Bring some good music or an audiobook

Not sure where you are in Indiana - If eastern or mid Indiana, I-65 straight down is pretty mountain safe - some hills in Kentucky and Tennessee.

If on the western side - the I-55 route is the way to go.

Good luck and have a safe trip.
