EFF Privacy Badger blocks RVTW?

I just submitted a ticket because the Timberlane RV Park in Brandenton, FL could not be found. After further investigation I found that nothing I searched for could be found. (I was copying a 2019 trip for a 2020 trip.)

Something has changed and now the EFF Privacy Badger is blocking all searches. The issue seems to be with subdomains of here.com

reverse.geocoder.api.here.com

1.base.maps.api.here.com

2.base.maps.api.here.com

3.base.maps.api.here.com

4.base.maps.api.here.com

route.api.here.com

Did a recent update change the domain where maps are coming from? The map display is completely non-functional. Disabling Privacy Badger for the www.rvtripwizard.com fixed the issue.

Didn't the latest release change the entire mapping program being used?

Yes, we did switch to Here Maps, but we have been using Here's navigation for almost a year. Here is a well known mapping provider used by auto manufacturers and many large companies.

The site is safe. Please whitelist the Here APIs.

The EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation) Privacy Badger is an add-on that blocks intrusive trackers, not a malware blocker. The EFF is a major force in protecting people's privacy, especially via legal means.

HERE Technologies is an EU company and they claim they apply their GDPR controls to all of their products worldwide, which is a good thing.

I did report the issue to the EFF via their add-on. Perhaps this is a change they recently made. I doubt I'll hear anything back.

I mainly put this post here in case someone else finds RVTW suddenly won't display maps.

No need to respond.
