Elevation & Gradient not working

One of the killer features of this software doesn't appear to be working properly. The elevation and gradient info looks to be in error. I've got a 40-day trip across multiple states ranging from a high of 10k feet elevation to almost sea level, yet the program shows garbage data.

I created a simple 2-stop trip as a test and it is also messed up. Anyone else having this problem or am I just special?

While they are working on that see if they can make the Elevation scale in with the map when enlarging a specific area of the map. ;-)

One of the reasons I purchased was for gps and the grade and elevation feature.

Has it been disabled?

Depending what hardware you are using it is either on the bottom of the map or under Map Settings, below Time Zones.

What is the status of elevation/gradient?

June, 2022. We drove from Yellowstone to Missoula and, from looking at the gradient on Trip Wizard, expected a single, short 4-5% downhill gradient but in reality ran into one short and one long 6-7% gradient. We’re heading to Glacier and then west and I’m worried that the gradients are not correct. Thanks in advance.

Bobalouie2, if you are on a trip of some extended length, with the gradient functionality as it stands today, there just isn't enough fidelity to the graph to give you specific ascent/descent %'s for every section of route you are taking. If you haven't made the small investment already, I highly recommend you get the Mountain Directory - West to give you the more detailed information you are seeking. I have both the print edition and the digital version for my PC. If you have concerns about these steep sections of road, then this Directory will be well worth its purchase price, which is very reasonable by the way.

If you break out the mountain area as a sub-trip the gradient will be much better. The gradient improves with less stops and shorter distances.

Gradient color explanation

So I have made a one mile trip over a mtn road in W NC and I see elevation change of 600 feet in a very short (estimate 1000') distance but the gradient colors are only BLUE (for which there is no legend) and some shade of gray. Why am I not seeing a 7+ or similar?
