I love the fixed date option. One quick question, if I have a stay for 8 nights, but I want to place custom stops (day trips with "0" nights) into the planner during that stay without adjusting the 8 night stay, is that possible? My only option seems to be on arrival day or departure day.

We do not offer this functionality. Whit I do is make a new trip that is the day trip.

What I do if I want to keep everything in a single trip plan is split my multi-day stays into two entries. For example, on a 4-night stay that I want to do daytrips from, a 1-day arrival entry, and a 3-day final entry. I can stick anything I want in between. Now I did this before the advent of the fixed date functionality, but I don't see a reason why it wouldn't still work.

What a great addition. It is much easier adjusting stops to arrive at certain locations on the required date.

Fixed date mid trip?

Is there any chance of allowing the starting date to float relative to a fixed date somewhere within the trip? That would work where you have a commitment or scheduled event mid-trip but don't know how long it will take to get there and are flexible about a start date. As you add stops you want to make en route to the fixed date, the start date would adjust accordingly.

This is such a singular design requirement, I don't know how you change to accommodate it without negatively impacting other aspects of the program. Off the top of my head for instance, what happens if there is more than one fixed date? Which takes precidence? Do you now need a precidence function? Can I not make a firm reservation between the fixed date and the start point? If I make a reservation, how's the start date established? If I don't know what the start date is, what date do I establish for each reservation in between? I'm sure there are other considerations.

You've already got notification of "# of extra" days to fill in to you're fixed date, as well as notification when you overrun your fixed date. Both are simple and straight forward. Just wondering what the real benefits will be?

You could create the trip using the stop as the starting point. Fill in after the stop to the "real" starting point and then do a round trip option, deleting the initial stops.

Stop D
Stop C
Stop B
Stop A

round trip click

trip would be: D,C,B,A,B,C,D order

delete first D,C,B

and you have your trip with the correct starting date.

You might need to think this one through.,
