Fuel Cost/Calculation Accuracy

Hello. I'm reviewing a recent trip and find that estimated arrival use does not match actual arrival fuel, as determined by the amount of fuel purchased at refueling stops.

I know I can override the arrival fuel level so refilling the tank to full matches the actual tank capacity, but does that adjust the fuel cost for that leg, where the estimated arrival fuel did not match the actual arrival fuel?

Also, what cost is used to calculate the fuel cost for the leg? Is it the cost entered for the refill on that leg? Or is it the cost of gas of the previous refill, which is the gas that was actually consumed in getting there?

Thanks

The fuel calculations in Trip Wizard are very accurate, but it's based on really knowing your MPG and estimating a good average cost for fuel. It all depends on what settings you have in your Defaults or Trip Settings. You can alter the cost post-fillup individually in each fuel stop, but changes to the defaults in Trip Settings or Defaults is not something you would do mid-trip. This video might help:

Just found the new fuel calculations update (before I saw the video) and I love them. They are very intuitive and easy to deal with.

Good job people.
