Google Maps not playing with RVTW anymore?

With my previous Windows 8 computer, I had no problems sending my route to Google Maps on the computer. Now I have Windows 10, and get an error message saying that "this file does not have an app associated with it to perform this action. Please install an App, or if one already exists, create an association in the Default Apps Setting Page."
I use Chrome as the browser. I'm unable to add Google Maps App to the Default App settings on my Windows laptop. When I search for Google Maps in the Default Apps, Google Maps is not a choice.
Does anyone have a clue on how to do this? Thanks!

Were you sending to Google Maps or Google MyMaps? MyMaps can accept CSV and GPX files. I do not believe Google Maps can.

What you were doing before just happened to work. it's not RVTW that's changed it's your computer environment.
The recommended way to export a trip from RVTW to Google Maps is to click on the wrench icon at the top of the stops list and choose "Send to GPS".
Then,
Please read the instructions below for your GPS type.
The GPS file exports above are in two file formats. The GPX export can be loaded into Google Maps and many standalone GPS units. The GPX export will export the stops, waypoints, and route selected in RV Trip Wizard. For step by step instructions to import the GPX file to Google Maps see:
Importing your trip map to Google Maps

I have always followed the steps described in the link and once a trip was imported into Google Maps in my browser, I would be able to acess the Google Maps app on either my iPhone or iPad.

Are you using the GPX or the CSV option? I checked my file relationships and GPX does not have one while CSV is Libre(Excel).

Google My Maps is part of Google Maps. I have a route from RVTW saved into My Maps in Google Maps, previously using my Windows 8 computer. I cannot even download the GPX file into my Windows 10 computer for some reason. That's the only thing that has changed - the operating system. I think it may be a Windows 10 issue?

Mr. Goodbar, I've done all of that. I can't get past the point of clicking on the GPX - it won't even download - hence the Error message.

I have never heard of anyone having a problem downloading a GPX file. Turn off all your extensions and ad blockers to see if that helps. This seems to be unique to your computer. Perhaps try a different computer.

Sue46 - I tried to download the GPX, but was unable to do that. I was able to download the CSV, but that's just an excel spreadsheet - it's not the actual Map with the route on it.

Tried different browser with same results....BUT, I finally figured it out! It appears that my computer automatically saved the file to my Downloads. The way the instructions from RVTW says to do this at the outset, was different for my W10 OS. So, once I found that file, I was able to complete the import to My Google Maps according to those instructions - YAY!

Glad you got the problem solved. Usually where downloads go is an option in the browser settings. At least I know that it’s that way for Safari, Firefox, or Edge browsers. The default is “downloads” folder, but I always change it to prompt me each time.
