We just sold ours. I checked for the price of similar models on RVTrader and asked my dealer what the wholesale to high retail range was. I listed it in the upper third of that range and had no serious buyers. After a month, I lowered the price $10,000 to midway between wholesale and high retail. It sold in a week to the first buyer at my asking price. I was happy with the amount and did not have to pay a sales commission. Prices have softened since then, so we're Happy (former) Campers. The keys to getting top dollar were complete annual service records for the chassis and coach since new along with annual polishing. It was 9 years old with 85,000 miles, but looked close to new inside and out.

Value

RV's are like houses. The value is set by the buyer not the seller. Price it close and let the market determine the value. Or just ask to high a price and continue to enjoy your depreciating asset for the foreseeable future.

That is exactly why I did not try to get top dollar. By selling at a fair price for all, I stopped $11-$12,000 annual depreciation. I also eliminated the cost of servicing of the chassis and house. Plus, now I'm getting a nice safe return on the proceeds. All things considered, it amounts to a $25,000/year plus for the bottom line. And that's before the added cost of fuel. We enjoyed it while we had it, but our life style changed and no longer needed it nor could we justify it.

I suspect RV's will drop along with what we see happening to home values now. In uncertain times, the recreation sector is one of the first to adjust.

When we sold our Mini Winnie at the start of the pandemic we checked prices listed at many dealer lots and RVTrader and followed those prices for a couple of months. We set the price little under what dealers were asking.

We listed it on RVTrader and nearly had it sold within a couple hours. The day before the buyer was going to fly here for the deal she got CoVid. The next potential buyer from Washington State, we are in NM came buy and drove it and loved it but found out it had seat belts only for four people total. They had three kids

Finally the third buyer also from out of state loved it and paid just under our asking price. We still made $12,000 profit over our purchase price two years before. Our banks handled the money and title issues. Very simple and clean sale.
