Inserting Stop Between Waypoints
HI I made a route from Montreal to Vancouver and then used the drag feature to move my route to where I want to go.
Now that I have my route done I want to plan where I'm going to stop for the nights. It look like I cannot add a stop in between way points. That mean I cant create a route from A to B without knowing in advance where I will stop???
Any Idea???

Click on campground, click details, click add to trip, select what waypoint you want this stop after

When you add a stop you can specify which previously created stop the new stop shoud follow or add a stop and using the domino on the left of the stop drag to where you want the new stop located.
Hope this helps. If you have any problems let us know.

When you do that it does not give you the option to add it after a WAYPOINT...only after a STOP.
N.B. WAYPOINTS are created when you drag a route

This apply to STOPS only, not WAYPOINTS that are created when you drag a route

All the black/white circles are waypoints that are created when I drag the route.
After stop no2 I drag the route 13 times, crreating waypoints 1 to 13. If I want to add a stop between waypoint 8 and 9 for example I cant find how!!!

Most people put in their stops and then drag the route to tweak it. There must be some reason you dragged the route to those places since you wanted to visit them.

Well originally if I ask for a route from Montreal to Vancouver the trip wizard made me pass in the USA, so I drag the route in the roads I want to see for scenic or more. I don't necessarily want to stop in those waypoints.
Other places I would stay for a week a visits around.
I guess talking to you I might just instead of dragging a route just make believe I want to stop there and then it will trace the route from stops to stops.
Waypoints should not be linked to stop but independant so you could reorganized them independently

I think that would be your best solution. Once you have all your stops in their you can then delete the "waypoints" and drag the route the to where you want to go.
This is based on Google Maps. I wonder if a similar problem occurs with Google Maps.

I agree with Sue that you are asking the trip planner to do something it's not really intended to do. Try this:
Start a new trip, adding your start point. Then add in a few stops in CAN you know you are intending to go to and then finally your destination. This should keep you routed in Canada without having to drag the route. Then you can fill in the additional stops.
You can use custom stop if you like - not just campgrounds. Just add the address to the search window above the map and follow the prompts. You can even just use a town as a stop.
