Match Route Exactly
So in regards to the suggestion to match Route Exactly, I understand your premise, but if you do, it continues to bring you back to your original route, even sends you backwards. Happened to my brother and no matter how far he went, it was still trying to route him back. In order for him to get back on track, he had to shut down and restart as if he was beginning the trip again.
So what happens if you don't match exactly, does it re-route on an RV Safe trip?
Thank You

I thought that a "Continue Route" feature had been implemented, or will be very soon that solved this. Make sure your app is updated.

We used follow this route exactly, because the optimization algorithm takes us places we don't want to go. So we had to plan the trip route by dragging the route around to our specific route, lock it in and force the app to follow it.
We also ran Waze simultaneously as confirmation, for times, distances, etc, due to app familiarity. However, near the end we did allow changes for a traffic reroute, and the app worked fine for rerouting without forcing us to go backwards

We just had the same issue as the OP. Trip Wizard suggested a route I didn’t like so I used drag route to what I wanted. The GPS was supposed to follow my planned route exactly. When I turned off the suggested route onto my planned route, the GPS kept trying to make me go back. It did that for the next 120 miles. It wasn’t until I was about 30 miles from my destination that it finally started using my planned route.
Why did it not use my planned route? How do I prevent it from doing this again? Why did it take so long to recognize I wasn’t going back and adjust the route just like every other GPS does?
In this case it didn’t matter because I use my planned route frequently. However, how can I trust it to use my planned route all the time?

We also ran into a weird thing last week. The wife watches the RV Life/Trip Wizard on the I phone as passenger. I also run Nav N Go built into the RV since it gives me good visual information.
The Trip Wizard route took us on a mountain road in Georgia (along the Ocoee river) that I would prefer to avoid so I dragged a different route that actually matched the Nav N Go route.
The day of travel the wife selected Match Route exactly since I assumed this would match the dragged route saved in on the laptop and not let RV Life go back to the original suggest route. It did not. It kept sending her towards the road that I wanted to avoid. Fortunately Nav N Go was navigating me correctly so it was not a panic. She rebooted the app a couple times with no luck. On a whim she tried the other option and the RV Life accepted the dragged route that we wanted.
Kind of the opposite of what I thought would logically happen.

Apparently there doesn't seem to be an answer for why the Trip Wizard GPS doesn't always follow the planned route exactly. I hadn't been using the GPS until this year, so it looks like I'll have to return to very carefully studying and committing to memory each day's drive.
