Possible Routes

Hello all,

We're going to be leaving Gatlinburg, TN in 3 days and going to Helen, GA.

I really have no desire to go over the Smokey Mountains on US 441 again. I've looked through several different mapping services, but all of them have me taking US 441. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I know that it'll tack some time onto the trip so I'm not all that concerned. Just curious what other reasonable options are out there.

Instead of going south on 441, go north through Pigeon Forge, Sevierville and then take TN 66 to I-40W. At Knoxville go south on I-75 and get off at Exit 60, TN 68, TN 294 to US 19. Then GA 180 to GA 348 to Helen. I've driven that road from I-75 to Helen, it's not too bad a route. It is 70 miles longer than going through the GSNP, but you'll make better time on the highways than through the park.
