Questions

ok, just got the wiz. How do I see where the end of the day is so I can look for camp grounds in that area? I put in my current spot and the address I want to go to but it does not show me where I would be at end of my travel day.

Such as in the old streets and trips where you could see the end of each travel day of so many miles or hours.

any way to see this???

You need to go under your name and set your defaults. Once defaults are set you can modify them on a per trip basis under the Wrench. Might be a good idea to look at some videos.

When you're setting your defaults you can set how far you want to travel each day - we set our travel for a minimum of 50 miles, typical is 200 miles, and maximum is 250 miles. With those set you'll see a green circle, an amber sircle, and a red circle drawn on the map at those limits, when you click on a stop.

We chose our limits as follows:

Minimum 50 miles: we chose 50 miles because we don't mind driving about an hour to visit a local attraction normally, but much more than that we'll look for an RV park closer to the attraction.

Typical 200 miles: this is what we prefer to drive in a day - that works out to about 5 hours on the road, all things considered. We don't have to wake up at oh-dark-thirty to get rolling, and we can be relaxing at the end of the drive while there is still time to get in some sightseeing that day.

Maximum 250 miles: driving more than that is a chore - if we have to do a long day like that we'll usually stay 2 or more nights at the end, just to recuperate!

Set your Driving Radii (under the wrench | Trip Settings | Routing & Driving ).

I generally: 1) select my start and end destination and 2) then place my cursor on my start location - either on the Trip Menu or on the map itself. 3) I then turn on the campgrounds. 4) Then I zoom in to where my driving radius intersects with my route and use the tools to explore the campgrounds in that area.

Note: if the radii don't switch to the location you are at, click to expose the little window for that location. There is a bulls-eye on that little window. Click that to set the radii.

There is a related post in this Forum that may be of use to you regarding Distance Circles (https://www.irv2.com/forums/f287/distance-circles-473953.html).

Remember the radius is just that. It is not the distant on the highway. Since you have not picked a route when the radius is drawn.

Just to be clear, I'm pretty sure the radius circles are always as the crow flies, never actual miles, even if a route is shown. I think the mileage shown in the pop up box for a poi/park is actual miles.

The mileage in the pop up box is actual miles from where? On my proposed route if I select a site it may say 100 miles. If I move further along my route the next site may say 110 miles. But the third site going the same direction on my route may say 97 miles.
Confused...

I found my answer. Too bad RVTW didn't define this.

Thanks.
