Roads Closed, Why?

I am setting up a trip mid June to the Grand Canyon. From Flagstaff, AR my RV Trip Advisor account says the road are closed during this time. I can find no information whatsoever on that when I google it. Are they really closed during June and why?

I looked at your trip and you are going to the North Rim, that is 1000' higher than the south rim and is still closed due to snow. Our provider of this information uses today's date for checking this information. I would check the Grand Canyon website to see when this road normally opens.

Also check to see if it goes through a reservation. Most Indian reservations are still closed. Can't get to the east side of Glacier for that reason.

This specific issue has been previously submitted on a help ticket asking that the "Road Closed" notification be tied to the date of travel vs. today's date to make the notification more useful. I really like this new notification a lot, but it needs to be tweeked a little.

North rim of Grand Canyon is closed in winter. Usually opens May 15th but not sure whether Covid has affected that.

South rim is open all year except during severe winter storms. I had family visit there just a few weeks ago and roads were open.
