RV Life Pro App

I’m thinking about joining the RV LIFE “Pro” subscription. (One key feature I’m looking for is low bridge clearance).

Anybody out there use this app I would appreciate your feedback if you’re happy with it or not, and if it offers a low bridge clearance, thank you. MudFlap

Need to watch those clearance numbers. Apps only take into account what is published with HWY's they do not take into account if the road has been re paved or any other minor changes. I used to get permits for oversize loads here in canada and on a few of the permits the clearances we off and if we would not have pre drove the route we would have been in trouble. Usually if your on a main hwy you will be fine, it seems to be more of a issue in city's and towns where things are not updated including the signs.

Yes, Trip Wizard does have iow clearance bridge markers. Whether or not it has every possible low clearance bridge isn't known. The same information is available in the Trucker's Atlas if you want something for cross reference.

Are you referring to a Rand McNally truckers atlas book?

Yes, that's the one.

We are very happy with the app. We use Trip Wizard for all our trip planning, and once we figured out how to use the GPS function properly, we've had no real issues. Plus, improvements are made on a continuing basis. While no app is perfect, this one does just about everything we need.

For us, it is a great trip planning tool with lots of customization options. We also use the trip wizard GPS function in conjunction with our Garmin 795 RV GPS for redundancy. As Don mentioned it is great, but we have had a couple of instances where it wanted to take us down roads not RV friendly that the Garmin would not. We also enjoy the Campground reviews that comes with the package.

100% Worth It

I have been using RV Life pro for 1 1/2 years and love it. It has over 25k campgrounds with review’s, amenities and pictures. Uses a driving radius (set by your time or mileage settings) overlayed on a map so you can easily zone in on an area to look for campgrounds. You can even set filters for the CG’s for hookups, types (private, state etc) and memberships. Also can show low fuel warnings based on your inputted tank size and MPG.

After you plan a trip it automatically loads that info into their RV Safe GPS (using your rig’s height, weight propane etc). Like all RV Safe GPS', you should vet the route before driving
