RV Tripwizard

I was a bit critical in my previous post. I do want to mention the developers reached out to me fairly quickly so these folks do care. So, first off that makes a huge difference. Credit needs to be given and communication is a big plus.

I will provide them with the information I have obtained should they wish. I have not tried the new version but I will say the Trip wizard is the only one with unlimited stops.

There are a lot of pros versus the competitors versions and now with a new version on the way I will re-assess later.

I have a lot of experience in I.T. and Project Management certification. I understand the lifecycle of the simplest of modifications. Even after they roll out a new version there will be bumps in the road.

Let's give them time to make it right.

I signed up and created my first trip. I liked the product until I tried to send the trip to my GPS which is a new Garmin RV660LMT. No problem loading the .csv file created by rvtripwizard using the Garmin's POI loader, however, the resulting POI's it created were useless because it didn't create the associated routes nor could I select go to and have the GPS create a route.

I then saved the the Google maps download file and loaded it to my GPS. It created POI's that I could at least select Go To and the GPS will create a route from location to the POI it created. This is helpful but I can not find a way to link the POI's creating the actual trip.

Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong, surely rvtripwizard works with Garmin RV GPS devices.

Thanks,

Bill

I just logged into the new version for the 1st time. I think I'm going to like it once I get used to where my cheese was moved.

One thing I noticed right away, the Getting Started doesn't address the fact that the tabs I was used to seeing above the map/start trip page are now gone. I realize most techie-people would intuitively know the gear icon on the right is the symbol for tools & thus probably where those tabs went, but it wasn't intuitive to me. I found it by clicking on that symbol. Did I miss where that's explained? If not, can it be added to the documentation?

Thanks,
Lori-

Depending on the device you are viewing on and screen size you may see different things BUT one most decent size screens you should see tabs for New trip and Open trip

There is a large red arrow lower down to slide the trip plan open and closed.

if your screen size is small, the New trip and open trip tabs are replaced with a "hamburger" that can be expanded to see several menu options.

Guys we're talking $39 bucks, not $39,000

I tried it not bad, I think too many icons display at a time.

I think you should do an intro price for a short time to get more users

The new version was just released a few days ago and currently being tweaked to improve function across various devices. You should begin to see some small changes to the display

Thanks, Janet. Actually, the tabs I was looking for were from the top toolbar on the old version...Trip Preferences, Contact Us, Missing Campground, Log Out...etc. Those are now under the "gear" icon. I couldn't find the gear icon discussed in the Guide.

Just like when I get a new version of MSOffice - they always "move my cheese".

I really like the new version. I sure wish I could change the icons used to denote stops. I really don't like the different symbols for the various campgrounds. I would like to be able to select something as simple as a symbol with the stop number in the center.
