RV Trip Wizard TurnBy Turn Issue

Attached are two clips.

1. My trip plan for an upcoming trip

2. The very strange Turn by Turn instructions resulting from this trip.

It is supposed to indicate starting from Point A (Eton St), proceeding to Point B (Woodland Church), then Point C (Holy Cross College), then on to Point D (Wolf River).

Points B and C are there to force RVTW to a certain route outbound, because the route it wants to take is not RV safe.

The Turn by Turn starts at Point A, then goes back to Point A when leaving Point B, and then goes back to Point A again when departing Point C.

This is not an issue in some place I know, but it makes me question whether I can trust Turn by Turn in unfamiliar areas.

Do you have RV Safe Routing turned on for that trip? Here's what that routing looks like without your custom stops.

It looks to me like there is just something that the mapping database does not like about that one section of routing you are trying to make it take. Now I don't know anything about the area, and possibly I've gone on the road you don't want to go on, but I dragged the route to connect Points 2 and 3, and RVTW did what I asked, in RV routing mode. Have a look at the attached. Hope this helps.

Actually, when I removed Points B & C as pbucha did (Using RV Safe routing) I came up with the same route that he did. What is it that you mean by your statement "Points B and C are there to force RVTW to a certain route outbound, because the route it wants to take is not RV safe."??

Yeah, that route, taking me down Rhodes takes me down a street in HORRIBLE condition, narrow, and utterly impossible to get an RV down.

I don't know where RV safe routing is to see if its set on.

I mean that Rhodes is (a) narrow, and (b) in lousy shape, and (c) I won't take a car down there, let alone an RV with a toad.

The street I want to take is MacArthur Blvd, which was (until NOLA decided to put in bike lanes) two lanes wide in each direction.

I do not want to turn right on MacArthur because there are huge live oak trees overhanging in multiple places, and it is not an RV safe route.

Turning LEFT on MacArthur, then to Woodland, RIGHT on Woodland, and over to DeGaulle and RIGHT on DeGaulle keeps me on four lane roads, and in fact, puts me in the correct lane to get onto US 90 and the Crescent City Connection, aka downtown Mississippi River Bridge.

But THAT isn't the issue. Look at the Turn by Turn. Each section starts at Eton Street. They don't tell me how to get fro, Point B to Point C.

I can't get it to drag.

And I see what part of the issue is. The thing is NOT taking the route I specified, from A to B to C to D.

It's turning RIGHT on MacArthur in the first section and heading off down a non-safe road.

All right. I found the RV setting in Settings. (It helps to specify where these things are.)

Illegitimate jerk is still going down Rhodes, which is not RV safe!!!!!! And it won't drag to the correct route. In fact, even adding a "stop" along MacArthur to try to force it to take MacArthur won't get it to deviate from going down Rhodes. RHODES IS NOT SAFE!

It should be noted that Google Maps, on which RVTW is based, has a real thing for Rhodes Ave. I have tested Google Girl (as I dub the map voice) on my phone, in my car. When I turn on Eton Street, she tries to get me to turn on Rhodes, then turn on Chelsea, go up to Norland, and come back to Eton and down, bringing me up on the west side of Eton. Which is fine if you are a delivery truck. Not so fine if you just want to reach your driveway.

The problem is... Turn by Turn is still wrong for the first three sections on my machine. And yes, it's a Win 10 machine, with all current updates.
