trip planned mid northern usa

Tell me what to see. We love water falls, short hikes that can also let scooter ( old people type) be used. Like beautiful views, friendly people, interesting sites, quiet campgrounds that we're not on top of other campers. Prefer hookups.
Taking I-81 north to PA, then go west, maybe as far as South Dakota. Looking for places to stop a few nites along the way. Plan mid June to end of July ( 6 week trip)

You might want to consider Michigan lower peninsula and then get into the upper peninsula and taking Hwy 2 across the country to where you want to stop. Michigan has lots of water and the upper peninsula has nice waterfalls.

The Leelanau Peninsula NW Michigan is our favorite area which includes Sleeping Bear Dunes Nat'l Lakeshore. We volunteered there! Make reservations NOW. The whole peninsula is an extremely popular area.

twogypsis gave you some great info. We are taking a month (august) to do the shoreline of the "mitten"

Anyway there is alot of this great country to see. I think if you give some sort of plan you may get more info.

The shoreline of Eastern Minnesota has many great water falls. The national RV hall of fame is in Elkhart Indiana. Theres great things in Door County wi. Memphis, Nashville the list goes on. Oh do not forget my home city of Branson MO

Good Luck safe travels

We've done it a few times Michigan to Washington. Very pleasant and relaxing driving! Enjoyed touring the area of Duluth. Seeing Glacier Nat'l Park on the approaching horizon was a welcoming site. Plan a stop in MT at Fort Peck COE.... a very nice campground in eastern MT.

Michigan's upper peninsula (UP) has something like 50 waterfalls IIRC. Tahquamenon Falls is great. Also Bond Falls near Paulding. The west unit of Porcupine Mountains SP has a river with 3 falls, and you can walk along the river on both sides to see them. Canyon Falls (a roadside park) south of the flyspeck village of Alberta on US41 is another nice place to walk alongside the river and see the rushing water cascading.

The highway north of Duluth along Lake Superior has been mentioned. There is a 50' escarpment running parallel to the shore, so one can see a series of waterfalls at the several state parks along there. The view from Palisade Head is not to be missed; look for climbers rappelling down the cliff toward the lake below. Also at Grand Marais, walk out past the coast guard station to Artist's Point. The tough part in this area is finding a campsite along the shore; it's very popular, for good reason.

Iowa has some decent state parks and a few waterfalls, or so I've read.
