Trip Planning - Breaking Up Long Trip into Equal Sections

Hi! I do use the trip radius to determine the next stop based on hours of driving and that works great. Is there a way to automatically divide a trip up into equal sections based on drive time. For example if we were going to drive cross country and wanted to drive 4 hours a day, is there a way to have Trip Wizard show us how the entire trip could be broken up into equal sections?

Or if I wanted to drive cross country and wanted to take 10 days to do it, is there a way for Trip Wizard to show where the stops would be in order to drive 1/10th of the trip each day?

Thank you,
Nita

One strategy: 1) Enter your ultimate destination as the first stop.
2) Note the total miles. Divide that by 10 (or however many days you want)
3) Update the driving radius distances to whatever that 1/10th value calculates out to be.
4) Position the mouse on your starting location
5) Zoom in to the intersection of the driving radius and the calculated route
6) Select a campground and add it to your trip after your start location.
7) Repeat for each day of the trip

It is certainly not an automatic thing, but it does use the tool to achieve your objective. Remember, that if you want to spend a few days at a particular spot to adjust your drive days accordingly.

I do what Mikes47 does but I don't bother with campgrounds. Once I have the route from start to finish (One stop) I set advanced route, in my case 4 hours, and click on the start. Where route "circle" intersects the highway I insert "Custom stop" and label in temp1. Then using that as my center point I look down the road to my next intersection of drive time and highway and set temp2 etc. I used this technique to figure drive time from Rock Springs WY to Rochester NY. Once I knew the days I went back and picked campgrounds near the temps. This let me book an extended stay 4 days out in what I expected to be a weekend destination park. Since we change our mind often it is wonderful to know what we are changing if from

Go to "mysecbicdrives.com:. Input your starting and ending locations and then select the "day trip markers". Done.

Then go back to RVTW to find campgrounds where those day markers are.

In MyScenicDrives you can set you drive time or distance to adjust those day markers.

Too bad RVTW doesn't bother to come into the new age and offer these features.
