Trip Wizard App Crash / Alternate Options?

Tried out RV Trip Wizard - the turn by turn directions look good but when I try to get the app to show me how to get there while driving no luck - the app quits.

Any suggestions for a runner up? Smart TruckRoute seems more for Semi Trailers but looks like it would work for me. The ability to punch in an address and get directions is a big plus unlike the Trip Wizard that is stuck in Oz.

We had to apply a fix for the mapping on the app. Android is now working and we are waiting for Apple to approve the fix.

I

You can go to Goggle maps.....plug in start and finish and get good directions
And it doesn't cost $39 - $49 a year
That RV Trip Wizard always seems to have something that isn't working and a fix is in the way....C

I've tried 2 phones & 2 tablets all slightly different Android versions. Same error - crash after entering start & end followed by check mark at top right.

Google is great for cars but don't help for large RVs when low overpass or tight turns are possible.

Sure you can. And you can also take off your air conditioner when you drive under a low RR bridge.

It's very annoying when it fails. We had to resort to Google Maps on a return trip yesterday, but it was interstates all the way so we were confident that it was safe. That's not always true for other routes.

We're disappointed that we can't rely on RV Trip Wizard for real-time navigation without corroboration from another source. We'll have to keep our clunky hard-to-see Rand-McNally RVND GPS on hand for when RVTW fails. But the latter is a good trip planner.

I can't consider RVTW a great trip planner because many of the POIs are unreliable. A route to Sam's in Hendersonville left us in a downtown location, nowhere near Sam's. When using it for locations, I will always double-check the coordinates with Google Maps, then search for those coordinates in RVTW to validate what it already gave me.

All of that is a PIA but it's a useful source of info, even if I have to validate it before I commit to traveling a route it recommends.

New Android app still crashing

I just downloaded the new app, dated 9/24/2020. It still crashes constantly.

A significant change is that Android allows permission for location only when the app is being used. If you switch to another app temporarily, (like maybe Google Maps to validate what RVTW is giving you?) access to location is blocked.

Not good. I hope this is fixed, and fast. We bought an Android tablet with the intent to use it for navigation with RVTW. (It also replaced our print newspaper subscription, finally.) On our trip out, it worked well. On the trip back, not so much.

Wow,How did you guys drive around any where before the Internet and GPS and maps on phones........
Goggle maps will get you there and if you look at it ,you can see bridges and RR tracks
And just a little attention while driving to the road signs can keep you from ripping off your A/C
BUT NOW,even RV Wizard won't help us with that low tree limb or a tight corner......I mean what do you need a football field to turn ....C

Yeah, and horses and Conestoga wagons. If you have a towed it does feel like a football field is required to turn around since you can't back up.

Just sayin...

The solution to this is to download the maps and then you are not dependent on the internet for your mapping.

Don't see the correlation between driving a Motor Home and tow safely without fancy driving aids and the signature "Go Noles"....
