Archiving an old Trip
I've seen other posts stating how to Archive a trip. However, when I open a former trip that I'd like to Archive and select the wrench, I do not see a "Trip Status" option...
Please advise...

Maybe you've just haven't felt like asking them, but wish someone would.
What would you like to know about Trip Wizard, that you don't?
Do you have any really hard questions...aka...stump the presenter-type questions?

Just signed up with RV Trip Wizard and when adding a new trip, it won't allow me to use current location, error says my browser (Safari on MacBook Pro) won't allow it.

The first option in that menu is "Trip Settings" - click on that and a new form pops up, with 4 tabs on it. The first tab is labeled "General" - select that and then the 3rd item down is "Trip Status". The default value there is "Active" but if you click on the text entry bar you can select either Active, Tentative, or Archived. Finally, click on the "Save" button.

San Diego to Bryce Canyon
When planning our route to Bryce Canyon, the Trip Wizard wants us to go north to the 70, and then south on the 89. This adds an additional 100 miles as compared to using Hwy 20 from the 15 to the 89. I looked at Hwy 20 on Google maps, and it looks fine for a 37' fifth wheel. I don't see anything that would prevent us from using this route.
Am I not seeing something?

This is an excerpted from a write-up on UT-20:
Summit is 10 mi. from I-15, and the grade is posted at 8% in both directions from the summit with the approach being approx. 7 miles of 4%-8% grade. Eastbound descent starts down ~8% and gradually lessens over the next 3.5 miles. The road is 2-lanes with 35mph curves.
Your choice.

At that point, I did not enter a number of days. Instead, I first clicked on the "Lock Date of Stay" selector, and then chose the date range on the calendar. I did that by selecting the first date (only), and they clicked on the arrow to go to the next month, and then clicked on the end-date.

Mike, Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, on my computer, it does not work.
I went to the trip and erased the stop. I opened an older trip to force a reload. I then went back to the tentative planning trip. I opened the campground and clicked on Lock Stay. The beginning date is not highlighted, but the end date is highlighted. I tried highlighting the start date and putting in a date. The date in the calendar dropdown goes into both beginning and ending field. I tried to highlight the ending field and put in a date from the calendar dropdown. It changes both start and stop dates.
Since it appears to work on your computer, I begin to think that the program has been developed with a certain hardware dependency. The developers may have assumed that all people will use the software in a specific order. This assumption can leave certain fields or variables in a state that does not work if you approach a problem from a different direction.
What I have found to work is 'clunky'. I put in a temporary false stop and set its' stay as the day before I want in my actual stay. Now I can put the dates into my actual stay and cock it in. Then I erase the false stay. This process works, but IMHO a well design app would not require.
One last thought. When I click on 'Lock Date of Stay', the date fields open with the end field highlighted. Any date I select from the calendar drop down changes the dates in both start and end fields. I have not been able to figure out how to select a date range unless I force a date range by putting in a false stop.

There are several youtube videos available detailing some of the features of the program - here's one that shows how to use the Locked Dates feature:

YouTube saves the day
Thanks for the video. It explains what I was doing incorrectly. As was described in the video, I was trying to make the process conform to my experiences in other web sites. The actual process is much simpler.
Thanks to all for the help.

Does anyone know what this "A" denotes on this campground? This just recently changed as it used to just be a normal green campground icon.

I believe it is a custom stop icon. Generally, takes the first letter of the stop.

Is there way to print to a pdf file both the map and stops, and the turn by turn instructions in one document? I can only print each individually, which results in 2 pdf files.

1st trip-can't preplan gas stops?
Hey,
I am planning my first trip using the app and it is a cross country drive. I would like to use the low fuel feature and plan gas stops close to those. I chose the first 2 gas stations, checked side of road, etc. Now on the third stop, I cannot get the app to update, ie its now 40 miles between gas stops.
I would like to refuel every 240 miles or so. What setting did I miss? How can I adjust the fuel stops? Do I have to search one by one as we drive?
Thanks in advance(tia),
CandyK

To adjust when fuel alerts trigger
Click the person icon to go into default settings
Then expand the RV Info
Scroll down to RV/Truck Fuel Information
Now update either Fuel Capacity or Fuel Reserve

multi-day trips questions
Hi - I set up a 4 day trip using RVTW. 4 one-night camping stops. The trip is set up on my computer exactly the way I need it. There were no "round trip" missteps! There were no "drag route" dimples along the route. While driving I use the TW App on my iPhone and the map showed up there correctly.
On day1 the App and directions worked fine. On driving day2 the App wanted to send me back home instead of moving me forward on the trip! I couldn't figure out how to continue forward on the trip! I wound up not using the TW App at all on day2.
That night I deleted the entire trip and resorted to re-planning each day's drive as a separate TW Trip. I don't think this is the way it's supposed to work.
Have I missed a step? What do I have to do to get the Phone App to pick up my current location (which is part of a planned trip) and continue forward on the Trip?
