2020 29 5t

anybody have this combo, we are looking at a 2020 artic fox 29 5t and a 2020 ford f-350 srw, crewcab, 4x4 standard bed diesel pickup, dealer says payload capacity is 3950 lbs , options we would get on fifth wheel would be 2nd a/c unit dual pane windows, and washer/dryer , would carry minimal fresh water on board, my question is do you think i would be good on pin weight? assuming wife and i contribute 300 lbs, slider hitch approx 200 lbs and nothing else in pickup. thank you

Many of our NROA friends tow with Fords. The one ton SRW does just fine with the 29's. If you were to go with the 32 or 34, I think I'd want a DRW but I see quite a few without. I really don't think you will need a slider. I use a B&W Companion but the Anderson is also quite popular. You could look at the 450/550 series trucks if you want to ensure enough pin weight capability.

We tow a 2016 5T with a 2015 F250 Supercab swd long bed 4x4 6.7. Added an air bag system and handles it beautifully. Using a B&W Companion. Nice level ride and never feels like the truck is overloaded. F350 should be fine!

Verify truck load capacities using the Ford web site https://www.ford.com/trucks/super-duty/models/f350-xlt/ . It all depends on exactly which truck you are looking at because there are variances in the towing and payload.

One thing to look at that the Ford TV owners can chime in on. I just bought the 2020 AF 27-5L. Was also upgrading to 1 ton GMC, in my case. Wanted the Andersen hitch for the tight/angled spots I camp in. What I found is that the 2020/21 GMC 3500's are about 2" taller than the 2019's (2019 is what I bought) Even with the lower bed of the 2019 I'm 1.25" nose high with the ball in lowest hole. Fortunately the CAT scales show my rear trailer axle only 80lb heavier than front, full load of water, ready to boondock. Aren't the Fords even taller than GMC's?
