When I had trouble stopping at a red light when our 27-5L was fairly new I took the wheels off and found two of the drums had grease in them. I replaced those two and later when I decided to put on electric over hydraulic and 17.5" wheels and tires I was at last happy with stopping power. Soon after I was on highway 99 in California heading east and an 18 wheeler had his hand out waving to slow down. I started to slow down on the corner I was in and saw just ahead where a slide have covered my lane. The decision to buy hydraulic disk brakes paid for themselves right there. I had also upgraded to 7k axles and did not buy the ex lube option. In my opinion, it is not a good system and I would rather hand pack my bearings the old fashioned way.
