Modified factory trailer hitch

This will be much more stable for carrying a small motorcycle on my 32-5m. I’ve added two 1.5 inch pieces of tube steel to the frame to mate up with the motorcycle carrier. The factory tube steel mounted to the frame is pretty robust and Northwood said itClick image for larger version

You wouldn't happen to know the part # for the hitch would you? Need a hitch for a 27.5. Nearest deal is 150 miles away.

Wood Chip,

I'm not familiar with the newer trailers, but my older (2008) Nash has a 4-1/2" square rear bumper (hose carrier). From the bottom picture it appears that may be what your trailer has and that's what your receivers are welded to. Not to any actual frame members. Am I correct or am I seeing it all wrong?

I am sure the receiver hitch is to be welded or bolted on. I would not trust the sewer hose tube.

That's why I asked the question. If in fact that's all it's welded to I would also be concerned. I would want it welded directly to the frame rails.

Northwood welded the hitch to the frame. Good for 500lbs tongue weight. The sewer hose tube is outbound of the 4X4 tube thats welded to the frame

Personally, I would not hang that much weight on the back end of a 5er, even with 2 or 3 receivers. That is a lot of weight to pendulum on the back of a trailer. If can seriously change the trailer/truck handling and safety.

Thanks for the updated photo. That looks a lot better.
With 3,800# pin weight you could hang a Harley back there with no issue. Have fun!

I welded a hitch on back of my Cameo fifth wheel and it carries about 750# being 1/2 the wt of the swivel trailer and 1800 Goldwing. No issues in 7+ years full timing. It actually lightened the truck load to allow me to carry an extra 100 gallon of fuel (800 lbs) in a aux tank mounted in the truck bed.
