Power cord reel

In the Grande Ronde, Silver Fox, there is listed an electric cord reel. Is it a true power cord reel like I had on the Itasca motorhome where you power out what's needed, plug in and when leaving, power retract the cord? No need to drag it to the RV shore power twist lock. Or is it just a cord storage reel that you have to remove the whole thing in order to use it.

I don't have one, but the ones I've seen are powered. Only available with the 50 amp option. Most of the folks who have them love them if they travel often. If you plan to move only on occasion, then not so useful.

On my 22QB the cord just shoves into the hole in the outside wall and goes somewhere

I saw a nifty cord winder that uses a 5-gal bucket with another bucket (?) inside that has a crank mounted on top. It was a DIY method to wind up big heavy power cords.

When we were looking years ago the power real on the 50 amp system rolled up onto a reel by pushing a button. It is nice but it is also an opening for ants and mice. I like ours that disconnects from the outside and I store it. Even though it is a 30' 50 amp line it is manageable. I am looking forward to getting the more pliable line that is available that is more like welding cable. When below freezing the electric roller would be nice. And you will never leave it behind. Not that I have but it is always on my mind. Especially when someone is talking to me as I break camp.
