Slides & electric cord (2 separate questions)

I have two questions - one specific (I think) to AF slides & the other having to do with the 30 amp electric cord.

Regarding the slides, both (living rm & bed rm) are functioning fine, but the living rm slide is getting a bit noisy when opening or closing (kind of squeaky). Considering using silicone on anything I can see (the drive?) but want to make sure that is okay. Any reason not to spray some silicone down there?

Regarding electric, seems like I read somewhere that you should pull the cord completely out of the storage compartment when using (versus only pulling out as much as you need). Thoughts? Any electricians out there?

re: shoreline cord, pull it all out to make sure no mouse/rat nests/ damage; coiled can create magnetic fields and (might?) cause issues under load
