What to look out for on used 2010 AF 22H?

Hello -

I am going to look at a used 2010 RV (AF 22H) in the morning. This is my first RV purchase. The RV appears to be in good condition, with the current owner rating it as 'excellent'

If it looks good I would plan on arranging an inspection (is this typical in buying an older used RV)?

I intend to take it off pavement (mild forest service roads in CO for disbursed camping, etc), but nothing too crazy. I am attracted to this brand due to their in house frame manufacturing as well as the excess insulation. For now this RV is a sufficient size for my small family, but may upgrade in the future if my SO/kids like it and we want more space as they get bigger

Could anyone offer any advice or thoughts on this model? Is it reasonable to buy a TT this old? All thoughts/advice are welcome!

We had a 2001 22h for a couple years. It was excellent and the only thing we disliked was the crawl-over bed.

Check the age of the tires and make sure the refrigerator works.

You've selected a great manufacturer and an excellent, practical floor plan. You might want to consider a later model which will have an extra 6" of width. This really improves the liveability of the trailer. I don't know what model year started the wide-body version. And, while towing, you'll never notice the extra width. At least I haven't. And I've had both 8 ft and 8 1/2 ft 22Gs.

Also, importantly, the 22G has a "walk-around" bed. No crawling over your partner to make a nocturnal "journey".

And by the way, if you haven't made a purchase yet, my 2016 wide body 22G is available. See the iRV2 "Classifieds" forum. Please PM me if you might be interested.

Good luck!

Bob
