Firestone makes a 16.5 tire
I put 16 wheels on mine with Michelin 245/75R/16
My speedometer is off by 1mph

I haven't found a Revcon Forum ether but there is someone on this forum that knows a lot about them and there is a website when I get to the computer I'll send you the link

Thank you Snufy1. Can you also point me to which 16 wheels you found that worked? I'm wanting to do the same so we have more tire options available if we blew one out while traveling.

Nice looking rig
I went to American Tire they were very helpful making sure that the wheels were rated over 3200# and the tires wouldn't change the speedometer much Click image for larger version

Finding 16" rims for a slant nose is much easier than finding them for a flat nose. The bolt hole pattern is unique, not sure where Revcon came up with it. There has been a lot of discussion over the years of trying to find an alternate rim. No one that I no of has come up with any. My guess is about the only thing you could do is find someone who will take your insides and and weld on a 16 inch hoop. There are a few custom rim manufacturers who would do this. You will have to make a lot of phone calls to find someone, but I think that is your only option for 16" wheels. I think I'd be more inclined to just use the Firestone Transforce which comes in 16.5" Before doing anything, you need to weigh your coach and make sure the rears will match the load rating you need. There are some bias ply trailer tires in 16.5" that can be used for the rear. Contrary to popular opinion, it is OK to mix bias ply and radials on a motorhome. The wheelbase is so long, the adverse affects are negated.

Thank you Dave and good to see you're still active...I've taken several notes from your older posts. As to the wheels and tires for the Revcon flat nose, I got the very same answer yesterday at Les Schwab here in Bend, Oregon...either send the wheels away to be cut and welded on a 16, and with no guarantee they'll be centered right, also 2-3 weeks out to do it, or to stay with the 16.5 sized rims and find suitable tires, which I decided to do for now.

So we're going to replace the fronts with Firestone Transforce HT Size: LT9.50R16.5 (http://bit.ly/2tW7gBh) and the rears with Super Swamper TrXus MT Radial Size: 33x12.50R16.5 (http://bit.ly/2sl8AM1)...aggressive tires for the rear so we'll see how this all goes...and fyi, all four of these are radials.

Hope this helps another oddball Revcon 250 owner someday soon.

We've started replacing some of the inner workings...the furnace, water heater, and also the generator...to help reduce weight further and make for outdoor storage. Solar is also in the works to make longer term off grid living. This 40 year old rig has so much soul and we couldn't be happier with it!

RevCon Owners - we are here were are here we are here

Hi fellow RevCon Owners...

Seems we're a rare breed. I stumbled on a 1972 250 D/T tagged with tow notices and barely saved it from transients and the aluminum scrapper.

I am eyebrow deep in my total renovation. I've gutted and sourced just about everything (all new, custom build, retrofit, etc.). I'm finding Amazon and Ebay carry 98% of what I need!

I just look at every task on it as a new puzzle...974 or so tasks to go.

Learning a TON about the RV industry (good and bad).

Making steady progress. I hope to share some learnings and learn from sharings when I can find time to log in.

I have shared my Flickr album where I post my progress if you're interested.

Regarding the 16.5 RevCon flatnose rim issues

My current plan is to have the centers cut out of my 16.5's and welded into 17x9 (rear) and 17x8 (front) rims. I sourced tires that would work on these size rim that meet the weight rating for the rig and are nearly the same size as the 31/12/16.5 rears and 30/10/16.5 fronts on it now.

I found a custom wheel maker in Washington state that services commercial trucks, etc. who can do this for a "reasonable" price. (Waiting for that quote now.)

If this works out, I'll share the details and results.

The wheels are BUDD's and I was told they are a John Deere pattern - wide 5, 8' spread - that was also used on some old Dodge Power wagons and a few other motorhomes. I love the look and the rarity..and don't want to pay for retrofitting the hubs ft/rear (if that's even do-able).

I ended up having 5 custom 19.5 steel wheels built by American Specialty Wheel in Kennewick, WA., finished in Satin Black powder coat. We modded the offset for better tracking in the front and to balance weight in rear. Wheels and tire are now all the same size (32" high). I chose to keep the rare wide-5 pattern because it's so unusual and authentic. After a lot of tire research (mostly here), I went with Japanese Falken RI151 225 70R19.5 tires rated at 3900#'s each. I got a deal locally for about $180 per tire.

Wheels are on page 3 & 4 of my project page on Flickr here: https://flic.kr/s/aHskU8RN6W

I have a 1975 Revcon with 16k miles..2 owner. Its in pretty good shape. I am installing a 140 amp alternator, Electric Holley Carb, eliminated the points, High flow water pump, and new fuel pump, wires, etc..

I will be doing the tires and suspension dance very soon. Any tips would be great..I know that is a broad statement.

Every project is always worth a few new gadget tools. That is what I always told my wife. We can pay someone X amount of dollars for the repair, or I can buy this nifty new tool for a lot less money that will help me do the job. Never let an opportunity go to waste.

Welcome. Wow, that's a low mile rig! I gave up on the obsolete 16.5's and went 19.5 wheels/tires all around (custom steel wheels).

There aren't too many RevCon owners posting on this site, glad to see another. Share some pics, please!

What did you do for offset modification? Please and do you have a contact that I could talk to about having some made for my rig?
Thank you

@rchoudini talk to Juan at American Wheel Specialty in WA state (Google for contact info). He’s the owner and he’s awesome. I just talked to him because someone else has ordered a set of custom 19.5s for a RevCon.
