Advice on Taking the Alaska State Ferry

We are booked to travel on two Alaska Marine Highway System ferries from Bellingham, Washington to Whitter, Alaska at the end of the month. We booked this trip a while ago and are particularly glad we did because we learned this morning that the Canadian border closing has been extended into July.

We're looking for experiences and advice from any of you that may have taken this trip in the past. We know that we can't stay in our RV during the cruise, and that we can only access our rig during short docking along the way.

We don't think our batteries will keep our 12v fridge going for the three-and-a-half days of the first leg, so will probably take a selection of items in a cooler to our cabin.

Is ice available on board? What's the quality of the cafeteria food?

Any other advice would be most appreciated!

We will be interested in how this goes for you, we are considering going in summer of 2022. But we are also considering the ferry route, just need to find out the cost for the trip.

I will be interest in what you find, and any new developments. Thinking on going later this yr. Thinking on leaving around july 18th.
