How much does a non-resident fishing license cost in Alaska?

It is $145 for a non resident fishing license and $100 for the King Stamp, for the season. You can get the licenses for less if you are only fishing a day or up to a week.

Between the freezer and family members taking back fish when they visited, we processed around 250 lbs of salmon and halibut. I love fish especially salmon and halibut. Click image for larger version

ktn1966...Noticed your reel was a fly reel...assuming you caught those using flies. That must have been FUN.

It's been a number of years....but we use to travel into Canada every year for fresh water fishing.
At the border coming back into states we only permited to bring two days catch per man.
I would check fish and game regulations first.

We drove to Alaska last summer and fished quite a bit. I wish we had brought a freezer. I caught a 125 lb halibut in Homer so we ended up shipping fish back. I'll add a few comments:

1) We looked for a freezer when we got to AK after we caught the fish, and couldn't find one that would fit in our basement compartment. Definitely buy one before you get to Alaska.
2) We've crossed into/out of Canada/US 10 times since the summer of 2017 and we've never been asked about how much fish/meat we had with us. They've only asked about firearms, pepper-spray, pot, liquor, cash and rabies (dogs), and once about fresh fruit. We were pulled aside and inspected only once - crossing into Quebec from Vermont. After a one-hour full inspection, we were told we shouldn't bring firewood, and we were sent on our way.
3) If you do have to ship, and btw it is not cheap, we had very positive experiences with Peninsula Processing in Soldotna and Coal Point Trading in Homer.
