Golden Nugget in Anchorage is a fairly nice place as long as you know its in a city so keep your expectations a bit lower. In Seward, you must stay at the Seward Waterfront Park. Its FCFS, but is just beautiful, get there before noon and choose a site on the water. Watch all the fishing boats go out in the morning and come back in each night, we stayed 4 nights last time, wish it had been 7, and if you are an early riser, a cruise ship that comes in very early and leaves around 6pm. There is a walkway just in front of the RV spaces and its a great area to walk. DW, gave it 5 stars, she loved the walkway with the dog, the waterfront sites do not have electric, so its drycamping at its best!
We also love Willawaw & Quartz Creek, all dry camping. This summer we are staying a week at each. Other places we stayed last time and are going back to are Ranch House Lodge (Hoot!), Big Bear in Wasilla/Palmer, Heritage in Homer, Hi Country in Whitehorse, Baby Nugget outside Watson Lake, Mucho Lake (Macdonalds Campground, a few sites are allowing reservation this year!), Triple G in Fort Nelson. And this year we are trying some new places, Riley Creek, Kesugi Ken, Diamond M Ranch, Pullen Creek RV and a bunch of others. -Bill
