Banff Campgrounds

Wife just spent a good part of the day to find out there are no camp sites in the park for 7/ 10 thru 7/15. Is there any campgrounds that are within about an hours drive from there? Probably the only time we will ever be in that area.

None at all in the whole park? Not even in 1-2 day increments?

Keep an eye out for cancellations.

To the west just over the Kicking Horse pass are 2 campground in Yoho (just before Field). There are some up the parkway but limited to small units.

Otherwise east to the Bow Valley (conservation pass/fee required).

Take the Friday night ( 15th ) out of search, then deal with the Friday night elsewhere?

I was signed in 32 minutes before resv. opened on 3/23, and at 8:00 my screen went into the "waiting for que number', and then 39 seconds later, my number appeared. I was only 38,801 inline, and then watched the countdown till the next screen appeared to sign in at 8:49. By then almost everything for my wished dates were booked in any campground with electric. I finally broke up my nights by splitting up, got 3 nights and move for 1 night.

We need to remember, Canadians love to camp and own rv's, and 14% of them do own one.

Experienced much the same issue. Got on Parks Canada reservation site on 3/23 and was 36,000+ in line. Couldn't find anything with electricity at either Banff or Jasper. Finally bit the bullet and reserved non electricity sites at both locations.
