Camping on Vancouver Island

Good morning, I've read a few lines about increases in visitors to Vancouver Island. Luckily, we are some of those and found a wonderful RV park for the Winter. But, as we travel the area, including yesterday's visit to Victoria, I'm left with the impression that there are a visible number of boondockers.
Has anyone else made this observation?

I was trough Victoria , Nov 25 th; DW specialist appointment ; but didn't get onto any side streets , that may have had room to park an RV .
What I did notice on my drive ( Comox to Victoria and back ) was that the RV parks along the highway had their " Full " signs up .

So I'm thinking , that anyone showing up on the Island , without a reservation will be on the street, so to speak.
I haven't been past the three RV parks here , or out and about enough to notice if there are any boondockers here . Perhaps the second ferry ride to access has kept them away.

I have seen a few Class C’s and a tear drop trailer by Elk/Beaver Lake, and a few more RVs near Dallas Rd. Sure there’s more around. Today, listening to CFAX radio, caught a guy in a Class A seeking help via a call-in show. Apparently he got caught with some pricy repairs and needs food, etc as he is only on basic pension. He said there are about 200 boondockers here. Not sure if he meant in Langford where he said he was or in general Vic area. Would like to track him down to help out.

I feel pretty sure that what you discovered about fellow with RV problems requiring assistance and perhaps lacking mobility or finance is not singular.
Should get more information, please count me in on whatever effort you may deem appropriate.
Perhaps they may not be aware of local food banks or other support networks,

Will see if CFAX kept any contact info for him. They did direct him to food banks etc nearby. Someone called in right after to donate $100 and the host directed her to his producer. Will try contacting him at CFAX.

The Island is full, Prov campsites are presently BC residents only and most of the private sites are full. If you come to BC, have reservations. Yes the weather is better than the rest of Canada, but there is definitely and increase of homeless people plus people parking along the streets and in the bush, sadly some cause a problem with where they park and the amount of garbage left behind.
