And if no fresh fruit/meat...what if it is frozen? Does that even matter?

I want to err on the side of caution...but I don't want to be ridiculously cautious if I don't need to be.
Here is the info straight from the horse's mouth. What Can I Bring Into Canada in Terms Of Food, Plant, Animal and Related Products? - Canadian Food Inspection Agency

I recommend all travellers recheck this a day or two before crossing as things can change. We do this on the U.S. USDA site every time because the USA is VERY picky and rules change often.

I doubt you'd have an issue with almost any type food but the list is linked.

Let me get back to you on Montreal-Quebec info.

You are so over working this. We have crossed into Canada 3 times in the last 4 years and never did any special prep for our RV. What food we had, we had. Never a question.

Other than the liquor and no guns which everyone knows.

Never been asked about anything other than wine and guns. Not even if we have pets.

We have always had our refrigerator and freezer full of our normal food.

You are probably right...I think I will pack as usual (less our usual stash of beer and wine). I won't pack as much food as I usually do, just in case.

I try to patronize local merchants and grocers for fresh products when I travel. It's about the balance between "do I have enough already with me" and "what do I want/need to buy while there?"

Once you cross you'll have awesome fresh veggies and fruit at roadside stands or markets. It's the season! Have a great trip.
