going to Mexico this winter I hope
Looking for info on traveling to Mexico this winter.
Anything from where to set up, internet connection, what to do about my phone, caravans going down

I am planning on being in Baja, Mexico this coming Winter season. I will be heading down to Los Barriles in late October early November and staying until April.
Maybe our paths will cross...

There are many beaches and you don't have to drive far from the U.S. to visit them.
What are your plans? How far to you want to drive? For how long?

I really know nothing about going down. Looking for recommendations about a good park. hopefully one with a caravan going down in the fall as it is my first time going across the border.
Also have trouble finding info about my phone and net connection. I am from Canada, and I checked into what my current phone would cost, and it is way too expensive

Check out bajawinters.com... I know they do RV Caravan Tours in Baja and I believe they typically start in October and run through April. Don is on the Forum and his screen name is BajaWinters... You could send him a PM here or an email from his website.

Since this is your first time why not go to Rocky Point? It's a very easy trip and I just did a Search on this site and tons of info appeared.
Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point) is about 65 miles from the Arizona point of entry at Lukeville, Az and it is considered a “free zone”. Therefore no special car permits are required to drive into Rocky Point. All visitors driving their own vehicles into Mexico must have Mexican auto insurance.

Rocky Point seems nice, but I would like a place with a bit of vegetation. lol.
anyone know about a place called Lo de Marcos, Nayarit?
there is supposed to be a place called Las Guineas, but I can't find it
any thoughts are welcome

2600 miles or so to lo de marcos. Don't you have enough vegetation in BC?

Welcome to iRV2 . 
I exited Kelowna in 2007 , after 55 years they wouldn't name a street after me so I left town . 
Actually the cost of living was so high and traffic so bad , I just wanted out . 
Kelowna was a great place to be in the 60s , but now JMHO it's Vancouver East .
For first time wintering in Mexico , you're doing the right thing by considering a caravan . Hope you get all the info you need .
