From the Alaska DOT

"The Canadian government has stated that the land border will remain restricted until further notice, but will continue to review the situation on a monthly basis. On May 18, 2021, the Canadian Government announced the border will remain closed to non-essential travel at least until June 21, 2021."

No you cannot stay in your vehicle. It's either a state room or sleep on the floor.

Pets need to stay in the RV but you can't. You can visit them at certain times and walk them on the 'poop' deck.

On the ferry we slept in the very comfortable lounge chairs on deck.... not the floor!

We went in May and it was fun to join the 'kids' going up to work on the fishing boats. They pitched tents on the outside deck, hauled out guitars and peanut butter sandwiches.

The ferry is a great way to get up there.

Pretty inexpensive compared to driving when you consider everything you have to put up with.
