Patzcuaro, Michoacán

We are at Villa Patzcuaro RV park for five days. This is a lovely place. Churchs' book regards it highly but notes that while there is plenty of room to park, getting in from the road would be difficult for a larger rig. There have been four US couples through in last four days. We have heard from two couples that say Patzcuaro is their favorite town in Mexico and there is a large expat community here.

Did you enter through Nuevo Larado? If not, where? How about diesel fuel availability and import of a toad? Thanks in advance.

RV in mexico

Safest route is over Columbia bridge north of Laredo via a Texas toll road from Interstate highway. Stay on toll roads (cuotas) which are roads marked with a D as in Mexico 180D down past Matuahuala and San Miguel to the Arco Norte, the ring road north of Mexico City.

Extremely low sulphur (15 ppm) is not readily available as yet in Mexico. We pull our fifth wheel with a 2006 Chevie diesel (4 x 4 dualie) with a 50 gallon Transfer-Flow auxiliary tank. 2006 and earlier are designed for the 500 ppm Sulfur diesel.

Toads are common with motor homes.
