I've actually been going to Lobos since 2007, first two years in a Jeep Grand Cherokee and from 2009 in a F-350 4x4 diesel. Puerto Penasco off and on since the late seventies. Another place to consider is San Carlos, I have very good memories of San Carlos.

What is the appeal of Lobos to you? RP is muck closer to you.

Lobos is like RP was back in the 70-80's, primitive and mostly unspoiled. It is also a fisherman's haven, which is why we go. We have a small boat and can always catch a lot of fish as long as the seas are not too high. The sea is literally teeming with life, it's pretty hard to drop a line and not catch something. The real estate is also cheaper if you want to buy.
Our group started 45 years ago when some doctors began going there with their families to camp on the beach, have fun and provide free medical services to the local villagers. It has kept on for all these years with the sons and grandsons of the founders carrying on the tradition. There are no doctors left but we can still bring them supplies and help boost their extremely fragile economy.
