Traveling east on Trans Canada Highway from Michigan to Montreal

Hi all, we’re going to be in the upper peninsula of Michigan in late August and will be traveling east on the Trans Canada Highway to Montreal. A few questions we have for those who may know:
- How is the cell service? We have T-Mobile & Verizon.
- How is the terrain? Flat, mountainous?
- Any particular places you’d recommend to stay and any sites to see?
- We’re really hoping to see the northern lights if the skies cooperate (that’s not a question, just a bucket list item!)
- Are gas stations plentiful along the highway?

Thanks for your feedback!

I have Virgin Mobile, and it's fine along there.

The road has a few hills, but nothing serious.

Check out the provincial campgrounds along the lake. Dry camping, but nice.

Lots of chance to get gas.

Not likely you will see Northern lights, but you never know, you know.

A Canadian’s point of view….
We’ve done your route several times in the last 2 years, and will be again this July.

I’ll leave to others on T-Mobile and Verizon, but I’m betting there’s no issues.
We’ve never had problems with our Canadian provider and your entire trip along the Trans Canada is well serviced for everything.
Nothing anywhere that you’d call a mountain, and only a few hills, none worth concerning yourself with.
There’s a good selection of Provincial Campgrounds but like everywhere else these days, availability can be a challenge.
See the link attached below.

Northern lights? Maybe if the timing is right, but remember you’re still below the Canada/US border of most the middle and Western states.
Gas stations are not an issue anywhere on that part of the Trans Canada.

PM me if you need/want more info.
