Traveling into Canada
I am a full-time RVer and would like to travel into Canada this next year. Does anyone know of any locations on the US side of the Canadian border where someone can safely store firearms while they are in Canada?

We had friends come visit us from the US and he found a gun range near Vancouver Washington that allowed him to store his handgun.
Hope you figure it out, and enjoy your stay in Canada.

Most any large us border town has a gun shop who will store your guns.
But did you know you can take your guns with you into Canada if your willing to jump through their hoops. Even a hand gun.
Contact the Canadian Border people and see what’s required. All kinds of hunters take guns into Canada every year.

Contact any local gun shop close to the boarder. Offer a little cash for the service, and I'm sure they will be happy to store them for you.
ps. Don't even think about bringing a handgun into Canada by hiding it. If it's discovered, you will be VERY sorry.

Shot Gun is actually quite easy! Took along to Alaska!
First crossing they do the paper work a little time consuming, after that border crossing were faster then ever! Give them all your passports, all your paperwork, write out everything your declaring, every bullet, bear spray, ect. They glanced at stack of and said your organized, handed it back, have a nice day! Never crossed so easy!
Hand gun has more regulations!

We crossed over into Canada from Maine. We called a local county police station and were able to leave them there for a small fee. This year we crossed over into Canada at Sweetgrass Montana. I called Sweetgrass police department and they directed us to Shelby Montana at Shelby Paint and Hardware. They have lockers for long guns and for short guns, for a fee. At any border crossing you can call the local police or the county police, they get this all the time. They can direct you to a safe place to store your guns and ammo. Also, remember, crossing the border with pepper spray is a $1,000.00 fine, but bear spray is legal.

Every year we hear about someone trying to bring in a hidden firearm. Usually results in losing the vehicle. Don't do it.

I think, when at the border, when they run a check on you, it shows up if you have a CPL. And, like us, you are directed to a big pole barn for a thorough search, an hour later if you are good, you’re on your way.

I have a Canadian PAL and own handguns, rifles and shotguns. I have never been searched thoroughly by US border control. They usually just ask if I have any firearms. I did forget to take a shotgun out one time and had to turn around and leave it with a cousin that lives in Summerland. They said that I could fill out some forms and then bring it, but it would take 2-3 weeks.
So it’s possible to bring some across borders, but you must have a good reason and be patient.

I have CCW permit in 3 States and have probably crossed 12 times and never have been searched! I think it is age! It pays to be old!!!!
